Chartered Civil engineer
Ideally you would be chartered, but if you have a strong design consultancy background and are working towards chartership, we would still be very keen to talk to you.
You will have gained experience over a range of different project types and have a sound working knowledge of the relevant British Standards, Codes of Practice and CDM regulations. A full driving licence is essential too.
With this expertise you will be involved across the full project life cycle, from preparing fee quotations, managing project expenditure and technical report writing. Your written and interpersonal skills will be excellent to work as an integral part of the project team in site and design meetings. This will include liaising with regulatory bodies, clients and architects.
You should be familiar with:
Drainage design (understanding Causeway Flow would be desirable but not necessary);
Highway design of access roads, pavements and hardstandings;
SuDS design;
Preparation of both Section 104 and Section 38 applications;
Preparation of flood risk assessments; and
Design of flood protection measures.
Graduate structural engineer
This is a full-time role for a Graduate Structural Engineer at our office in Penrith, with the flexibility for some work from home.
You will be responsible for performing structural analysis, creating and reviewing calculations, and using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Additional day-to-day tasks include collaborating with the engineering team, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of project deliverables.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Structural Engineering
Familiarity with Civil Engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment (even as an internship or work experience) is a plus.
